Although this past summer was unusually slow for Grace Plastics, by September we were bringing in more plastic than we could handle. Much of the crates and dunnage was being stored outside and our beautiful site almost looked like a dump in the back. Because of the lack of material in the summer we had slowed to one shift. We quickly ramped up to two, and are now running around the clock, 5 days a week. Trying to find space for additional loads can be trying, but is always a better problem than the alternative. Much of the increase we can blame on Andy Eastman, our star salesman, who has shown that capitalism works. All salesmen including yours truly are paid based on commission. Andy takes advantage of that.
Because of the influx of material, our crew has grown. We brought one back who had been laid up due to medical conditions, and added five more full-time, one part-time, and a couple temps. It sure is busy out there. And we are continuously pumping out regrind. Even though we have so many new operators, they all spend a week along side an experienced grinder and typically do an exceptional job. Since we have moved into our own building, we have always had an excellent reputation for putting out a quality product. Now it will be more of the same.

The rosy picture in the above paragraphs was written in October, before the prices of polypro and polyethylene crashed around us. We consider ourselves blessed, because we were able to move quickly on material and haven't taken a real beating. We also know that since the company belongs to the Almighty, He will take care of it and His children. We have recently taken on medical and other engineering grades.
